Anja and Fiona met in 2012 on a yoga retreat in Tuscany.  They share a love of Tuscan food, and yoga as a healing and fun practice accessible to everyone. Both experienced internationally-certified yoga instructors, they are excited to host this week-long Vinyasa yoga retreat at beautiful Peralta.

The unique Peralta hamlet was built by renowned Italian sculptor Fiore de Henriquez as a place for artists to create.  Set in the Tuscan hills overlooking the Camaiore Valley, the Peralta retreat is designed to refresh and inspire.

Come unwind and re-energize amongst olive groves, bougainvilleas, lemon trees, and jasmine.

Each house in Peralta offers privacy and space to gather, as well as a breath-taking view of the valley out to the Mediterranean Sea.  Group activities to enjoy local history, food, and culture are planned, with free time left to hike, read, write, and relax.

The Peralta Retreat offers dynamic Vinyasa flow practice with suitable modifications suggested for every student.

Morning practices will be active with a focus on connecting movement to breath.

Afternoon classes will be restorative flow.

Classes will accommodate both experienced yogis, and those new to yoga.  No experience is required.

Beginners are welcome!

Anja is a teacher for all levels, thoughtfully helping her students reach their maximum potential and tapping into their inner strength and energy. I would not go anywhere else.

"I had the opportunity to practice yoga with Fiona for close to two years. Her classes were always a treat and helped me keep my zen!”  – Genevieve B, Canada

Peralta offers both private and shared rooms.

Each house and apartment is unique, designed by the founding artist herself.  While each accommodation has its own special charm, all of the houses provide a breathtaking view of the valley out to the sea, as well as both private indoor and outdoor spaces to relax, read, or socialize.

For more information about the quarters, have a look at the Peralta website.

We will enjoy genuine Tuscan cuisine.

Tuscan country cooking emphasizes simple natural ingredients and features various cereals, beans and lentils, delicious pecorino cheeses (sheep’s milk) and lots of vegetables.   This traditional food  still forms the basis of local cooking.

The retreat features three organized excursions.

Lunch in medieval town of Pietrasanta followed by a short guided walking tour of its noted sculpting studios. We’ll leave time for shopping and a coffee at one of the outdoor cafes.

Lucca Visit

A day trip to the beautiful and historic city of Lucca is offered to tour, shop, lunch, cycle, or just explore the cobblestone streets within the Renaissance walls. The birthplace of composer Puccini, Lucca is a historically and culturally rich place not to miss.

Family-Style Dinner Out

A rigorous hike through the forest to a local family-owned restaurant is offered with a taxi ride back to Peralta provided after dinner.  The hike features both canopied forest and amazing views of the valley. (Transport to the restaurant can be arranged for anyone not wishing to hike.)
